In recent decades, studies on resistance literature have expanded significantly, and numerous scholars have examined and critiqued this field in order to clarify its nature and various dimensions. However, despite the abundance of studies and the establishment of a theoretical framework, a systematic review of scholarly sources shows that ambiguities still persist regarding its definition, conceptual boundaries, and its relationship with other literary genres and theoretical discourses.
In a previous study, using a paradigmatic‑critique approach, a new model—referred to as the “literature of struggle” model—was proposed to redefine resistance literature, aiming to identify and resolve these ambiguities. The present article, based on this paradigmatic redefinition and employing an analytical–conceptual approach, applies this model to examine the internal branches of resistance literature, its external relations with adjacent literary genres, and its position within the broader body of literature.
According to this model, the literature of struggle is divided into several subcategories—subcategories that, while conceptually distinct, share a common paradigmatic field. Within this framework, the relationship between the literature of struggle and resistance literature is one of general–specific absolute inclusion, whereas the relationship between resistance literature and protest literature is one of partial overlap. By redrawing these relationships and branches, this model offers a more comprehensive and dynamic picture of resistance literature and expands its potential for future studies.
